LIL KENNY
Hubert Sumlin says “he’s the man.” Leon Russell whishes
him a happy birthday and George Jones calls him “son.” All
of this really happened but not in the way you might think. So goes the mostly
fact and partly fiction life of Kenny Graham. Anyone who knows him has
a story about it and usually it’s funny as hell. Nevertheless,
it shows that the music that influenced “lil” Kenny’s life
comes from a wide variety of genres. Country, bluegrass, blues, rock and roll,
country rock and R&B. Lil Kenny loves it all!
He started learning guitar at age 8 listening to Merle Haggard records. By
the time he was 12 (and influenced by that demon rock and roll) he was jamming
with school mates. Everyone wanted to play guitar back then and no one
wanted to play Bass. So lil Kenny made the switch.
Lil Kenny uses:
Fender Precision Bass (1972) upfitted with EMG pickups and a BadAss Bridge.
Fender Jazz Bass (1987) upfitted with a vintage Fender Neck, Seymour Duncan quarter pounders and a Star Bridge plus Schaller tuners.
